I've been teaching Art & Crafts for 12 years. I am a part time Arts tutor with South West College as well as facilitating workshops for local councils, schools, organsiations and private groups and individuals.

I can cater to all abilities and age ranges and throroughy enjoy working with groups to work out the most suitable craft/artwork and custom theme it to suit. Quotations available on request via phone or email.

Textile Art

Workshops can be adapted to particular length of time. A variety of the techniques i use in my own work and demonstrated and with material packs given in the workshops individuals can produce their own unique piece of work. Techniques include: fabric painting/applique/creating textured surfaces/free machine embroidery/hand embroidery.

Creating individual trees representing the seasons using fabric bonding, hand painting fabrics, applique, hand and machine embroidery

Large scale project where students collectively created this piece of work, using silk fibres, waxed fabrics, silk painting and fabric painting.

Feltmaking

Feltmaking workshops: Wet feltmaking techniques are introduced to participants where they work with colourful soft merino wool to create an artwork. Needle felting and hand stitching techniques can be shown to further add detail and highlights.

Silk Painting Workshops

Working on pre stretched silk screens and hoops individuals are shown the process of silk painting. Images can be traced and then outlines are created using gutta and then the piece is painted in using specialist silk paints.
